I’ve struggled with anorexia and bulimia (EDNOS) for over 2 years now. I was hoping that if i came here, i’d find support and help. I’ve done IOP twice, this is my second time. I’ve found it to be very helpful, when I am THERE. But once I leave, I go crazy without all the support I had gotten. And I end up relapsing. I am being discharged this week and I am very nervous as to what will happen. The only difference from last time though, is that i have a lot more support now! I am very happy about that. I just don’t want to “burn out” my support system. I also notice once I start to do well in recovery, my depression gets stronger and worse, and so does my urge to cut. I had gone almost a month, until a few days ago, cut free. But i messed it up a few nights ago… And i just wanted to know if i could find support here! |

Hi Correrynadar. Yes, you have support here! We are so glad you are here. :) You are not alone. I’m so proud of you for fighting so hard to beat ED. Having a support system is so important. Believe in yourself to be whole and feel strong. It sounds like a piece to your puzzle is learning to let pain out. Eating disorders, cutting, depression can all be intertwined by Silence. The freeing piece is your Voice. Trust me when I say your voice has all the answers. Hope leads to freedom. And Faith leads to peace and fulfillment. Part of healing takes hard work, the other takes trust. Trust in yourself and self-discovery. Have a plan when you are discharged you can fall back on. You have us here at FBN. :) Make motivator cards now that you can put everywhere to remind you of where you want to be. What are your goals Correrynadar? Writing them down solidifies your commitment. Take each day one at a time remaining emotionally present to keep your power close. Fear and Pain are the main battle here. What helps you keep fear away? Have a safe place you can go where you feel completely safe. For some it’s sitting on the beach, near a fountain, or surrounded by friends. What is your safe place? Think about how you will let pain out in a healthy way. Pain, anger, guilt, all have to come out! Writing, talking, using visualizations, and physically releasing emotions will keep you on track. I can help you come up with a solid plan for your success. Will you have a counselor when you are discharged? It’s very important to keep going to counseling, is that in place for you? We will be part of your support system, and are happy to have you here. Let me know how I can help you through this. With Care, Life Coach Nova |
